Thanksgiving recipe: Fresh Cranberry Relish

Submitted by: Cindi Bond of Warner Robins

"It is a recipe that I developed because I forgot to make the sauce and didn't have time to cook and cool sauce. It has been requested by everyone in my family and extended family," Bond says. "We still have the canned lump in the middle of the table, but this one is always gone at the end of the day. I usually make two batches and save the second one for leftovers."

Ingredients:

1 pound fresh cranberries, rinsed and drained

1 large navel orange

2 cups white sugar

Directions:

Zest the orange. Peel and section the orange. Put cranberries, orange segments, and sugar in a food processor. Pulse until cranberries are about 1/8 inch (do not over pulse until it becomes juice). Stir in orange zest. Place in fridge for at least an hour. Serve as a condiment with your best Thanksgiving turkey or Christmas ham.
