Here’s what to try at new, locally-owned seafood restaurant in Warner Robins.
Kayla Zhang and her uncle John Huang are the owners of the Seafood Corner, a new restaurant in Warner Robins.
Huang also owns the Macon Crab House at 4690 Presidential Parkway.
Zhang wanted to own a restaurant to gain financial independence in order to buy a house for herself and her 11-month-old son, Lucas. They currently live with her uncle and his wife, Aling Wang, in Warner Robins.
Zhang and Huang own the Seafood Corner 50/50.
The restaurant is tucked away in a small shopping strip next to the popular Between Friends Coffee off Ga. 96 in the former Sea Shells Seafood Express location. The fact that the space was a former seafood restaurant was a perfect fit for Zhang and her uncle.
The restaurant is designed for takeout, but has four tables that seat four people each for dine-in, or to wait for an order to go.
Find all sorts of seafood options at the Seafood Corner
The Seafood Corner offers what one would expect at such a restaurant, including shrimp, snow crab legs, tilapia, oysters, green and black mussels, king crab legs, crab cake, lobster tails and more.
Zhang suggested trying the seafood special No. 1 that includes a cluster of snow crab legs, a half pound of shrimp, a half pound of sausage, two eggs, two corn on the cob and two potatoes.
This boiled seafood dish comes with a choice of Cajun or garlic butter seasoning or the house special, which is a combination of the first two seasonings, or can be seasoned with garlic butter only. Next, choose a “spicy level” from mild, medium, hot, and extra hot.
Most customers choose the mild seasoning, which is very flavorful.
The $28 seafood special No. 1 is more than enough for two people. The restaurant is currently running a 10% discount on dine-in and pick-up orders only until the end of the month to celebrate its grand opening.
If dining in, the seafood special No. 1 is served with crab crackers and two pairs of thin plastic gloves — the best way to eat the dish without getting it all over your fingers, Zhang said.
For takeout, the made-to-order dish is sent home in a large, clear plastic bag, along with gloves.
More about the menu at the Seafood Corner
The menu includes appetizers of hush puppies, fried calamari, steamed oysters, chicken wings with BBQ, buffalo, Cajun and lemon pepper options, and the restaurant’s special wings.
Fried basket orders of jumbo shrimp, flounder, catfish, tilapia, oysters, chicken tenders or crab cakes come with a choice of Cajun, sweet potato or regular fries.
Customers may also choose two of three of the same fried foods to create a fried combo order.

Customers also may create their own boiled seafood combos. Add-ons include sausage, turkey sausage and boiled eggs.
All the boiled seafood options come with a choice of Cajun, garlic butter or house special seasonings, or garlic butter only, and choice of spicy level.
The $25 house special comes with five jumbo shrimp, five oysters, two catfish and one crab cake with choice of Cajun, sweet potato or regular fries.
Offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily except Sunday, lunch specials include basket orders with a choice of jumbo shrimp, fried flounder, fried catfish, fried tilapia, fried oyster or chicken tenders. The lunch specials include a choice of fries.

A children’s menu for those 10 and under also is available of fried shrimp, fried catfish or chicken tenders with a choice of fries.
The only offering made with imitation seafood is the kani salad, a popular Japanese-style crab salad made with imitation crab meat (kani) and strings of crunchy vegetables such as carrots and cucumbers tossed in a creamy mayonnaise-based dressing.
The Seafood Corner adds a tempura batter mix to the salad for extra crunch.
Of all the salads that could be offered, the kani salad was chosen simply because “I really like it,” said Zhang, who developed an affinity for it while working at a Japanese restaurant in Connecticut.
The kani salad was listed as a special on the chalkboard menu at the cash register on a recent visit. Also listed on the chalkboard menu was an unexpected treat: fried Oreos coated in a tempura batter mix.
