We tried five holiday drinks from around downtown Macon. Here’s what we thought.
It’s the Christmas season in Macon and that means bars and restaurants all around downtown are getting festive with holiday drinks.
From white Russians to margaritas and even shots, some of Macon’s favorite spots pulled out all the stops for this year.
The Telegraph tried five of the drinks offered. Here are our thoughts.
You’re a Mean One Margarita
You’re a Mean One Margarita from Tic Toc Room is a melon margarita with a fruity, salty flavor. The lime floating on top gives it an extra kick of sour, and the maraschino cherry adds a sweet finish.
Rudolph’s Best Friend
The Rudolph’s Best Friend from Jalapeños Cantina is made from vanilla Crown Royal, peach schnapps, sprite and grenadine topped with a cherry. It’s light and candy-sweet with a fruity aftertaste reminiscent of a cream soda.
The Toasted Snowman
The Toasted Snowman at Ocmulgee Brewpub is a White Russian that goes down easy with a sweet, slightly spiced flavor and creamy texture. It’s topped with a skewer of toasted marshmallows.
The Gingerbread Man
The Gingerbread Man, also at Ocmulgee Brewpub, is a Christmas take on the classic cocktail. The bourbon is warm with a citrus touch that pairs well with the sharp ginger flavor.
The Christmas Shot
The Christmas shot from Reboot Retro Arcade & Bar is made from white chocolate, coconut rum and peppermint schnapps. It packs a festive punch with a sweet, minty flavor cut through by the rum.
