From beers to blood bags, we tried drinks from the Macon Twilight Bar Crawl

Whether you’re Team Edward or Team Jacob, Fall Line Brewing Co.’s Twilight Bar Crawl Friday Night offered a variety of creative beers and cocktails that were sure to satiate your thirst.

The crawl started at Fall Line, where participants received either a pair of vampire fangs or werewolf ears and could participate in a game of Twilight trivia for a chance to win Edward Cullen and Jacob Black cardboard cutouts.

The event spanned nine watering holes plus a “side quest” milkshake at Shuster’s Candy and Creamery. It challenged bars to create a drink that embodied all the teenage angst, supernatural drama and forbidden love of Stephanie Meyer’s hit book series.

The Telegraph joined the fun and sampled some of the Twilight-centric drinks. Here’s what we thought.

Skin of a Killer — Fall Line Brewing Co.

Starting off strong, Fall Line offered a housemade cranberry and vanilla sour named for Edward’s glittering complexion. The sour was strong, rich and fruity and topped with a sugary pink syrup around the rim of the cup to mimic blood. Fall Line also offered a Jacob-themed brew — the “Where The Hell Have You Been Mocha?” — which combined local beer with a rich, chocolate flavor.

Bite Me, Sparkle Boy — Reboot Retrocade & Bar

Reboot also played off Edward’s shining skin with the “Bite Me, Sparkle Boy,” a cocktail combining amaretto, red apple liqueur, ginger beer, bitters and lime juice. The drink packs a perfect mix of sweet and sour with a nice sting of amaretto. The gummy fangs on top seal the deal.

The Twilight Transfusion — Just Tap’d

Just Tap’d served its cocktail, The Twilight Transfusion, in a blood bag to give bar crawlers the full blood-sucking experience. Made with cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, rum and grenadine, it brings a saccharine flavor with a warmth from the rum.

Shuster’s Velvet Vampire — Shuster’s Candy and Creamery

While a self-proclaimed “side quest,” Shuster’s Velvet Vampire earns a worthy spot on the crawl. It doesn’t contain alcohol, but it’s a rich, smooth finisher made with red velvet cake ice cream, whipped cream and strawberry sauce.
