Middle Georgia’s first Raising Cane’s fast-food restaurant might soon be coming to north Macon, according to documents from the Macon-Bibb County Planning & Zoning Commission.

The Louisiana-born franchise, which specializes in chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast and coleslaw, is planned at 4951 Riverside Drive with a drive-thru, a conditional use application shows.

Applicant Kimley Horn filed the application with P&Z, which is expected to be discussed at a commission hearing on June 9.

It’s unclear when the restaurant will open, if approved.

Raising Cane’s has more than a dozen locations in Georgia, but none are in Middle Georgia, according to a map on its website.
