Sweets, BBQ, vegan options and more: Find these food trucks at Macon Cherry Blossom Fest
Feast among a flood of foodies in downtown Macon for the Food Truck Frenzy at the annual International Cherry Blossom Festival.
Latin, barbecue and sweet bites dominate this year’s lineup.
Over 20 different mostly Georgia-based vendors will set up from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, on Third Street in downtown Macon.
It is free to access the event and prices vary per vendor.
The Telegraph got an exclusive first look at the food truck lineup.
Island Noodles Atlanta
Get your vegan fix at Island Noodles, an Atlanta-born company known for its yakisoba noodles. The high-protein wheat pasta, simmered in a “secret sauce,” is a popular Japanese dish served in Hawaii, according to the company’s Facebook page. No dairy, nuts or meat products are used.
“These noodles are stir-fried with fresh garlic, ginger and a medley of 21 locally sourced vegetables, in specially designed wok stove units,” according to the Facebook page.
Kelvins BBQ
You’ll want to lick your fingers after this.
Enjoy a cookout with Middle Georgia-based Kelvins BBQ, known for its grilled Boston butt, ribs and other meats.
Its competitive, family-owned team has taken home “championship-level awards” at the Georgia Barbecue Association and Kansas City Barbeque Association circuits, according to its website.
Country Cabin Sweets and Treats
This kitschy Southern dessert shop will transport you to a forest campsite with its log cabin-themed setup.
Country Cabin Sweets and Treats has offered raw homemade ice cream in white oak wooden churns, which help make it “light and fluffy,” according to its Facebook page. It also sells other treats, including freshly squeezed lemonade and lava cookies.
Sanchez Papas and Corn
It’s mouthwatering, to say the least.
Sanchez Papas and Corn offers savory Mexican cuisine known for papas, or baked potatoes; esquite, or corn in a cup; and elote, or corn on the cob.
The items are doused in tajin, a lime and chili powder; and the option of hot Cheetos for an extra kick. Mayo and cheese balance the spice and savor.
Super Taco “El Guero”
A flying superhero on the side of this food truck says, “Un taco al día es la clave de la alegría,” or “a taco a day is the key to joy.”
See for yourself at Super Taco “El Guero,” which uses fresh local produce in its authentic Mexican street food.
The menu boasts tacos, calamari, papa con chorizo (potatoes with sausage), mulitas (small braised pork-filled quesadillas) and more.
Cuban Island Café
This is your only option for Cuban food at the Food Truck Frenzy, and only a few Cuban restaurants exist in Macon.
At Cuban Island Café, you can have a full-course meal.
Its vast menu features hearty main dishes like bistec empanizado (marinated, breaded pan-fried steak), tres leches and flan for dessert, a variety of espresso-based drinks, and appetizers including papa rellena (deep-fried mashed potatoes with a crunchy outside and ground beef inside) as well as platanos maduros (fried sweet plantains).
The Mad Greek
The Mad Greek boasts a menu passed down by a few yia yias, or grandmas in Greek.
The Georgia-based business is dubbed “your go-to Greek street food truck,” according to its website.
Enjoy bold fresh flavors in its variety of gyros, meat platters and rice bowls.
Feeling adventurous? Dig into a Greek dog, — a beef hot dog with feta, tapenade and tzatziki. Or try spanakopita, which is spinach and feta wrapped in a light and flaky phyllo pastry, similar to dough used in baklava.

This coffee and crêpe shop became so popular it was featured on Food Network’s “The Great Food Truck Race” Season 16.
Need we say more?

Foodies can mix and match toppings like caramelized onions, fried eggs, soft-shell crab and pickled jalapeno.
Salsa’s Mexican Grill
