Popular sports-themed wing restaurant chain ‘coming soon’ to Macon for the first time
An Atlanta-born wing franchise that stretches across the Southeast U.S. will open its first Macon location soon, according to its website.
Touchdown Wings boasts all-natural, organic chicken wings with a variety of sauces, as well as other finger food like burgers, sandwiches and tenders.
The football-themed restaurant will open at 4094 Pio Nono Ave. in south Macon. It may open a second location at 808 Gray Highway, where a Bojangles used to sit in east Macon.
Its website said locations at both spots were “coming soon” and a Touchdown Wings sign was posted up on the former Bojangles building as of Thursday, but another sign directed customers to the Pio Nono Avenue location. It’s unclear when each one was set to open.
Its three other Middle Georgia locations are in Warner Robins.
The chain started off as a Chinese restaurant called Hong Kong City in Atlanta, then began to only focus on wings due to high demand, The Telegraph previously reported.
The Atlanta-born restaurant has around 40 locations across Missouri, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia.
The founder did not immediately respond to The Telegraph’s request for comment.
