Retired Robins colonel named director of veterans training center in Warner Robins
A retired Robins Air Force Base colonel will serve as the director of the new veterans training center in Warner Robins.
Patricia Ross was vice commander of the 78th Air Base Wing when she retired in 2014 to serve as director of military affairs for the Technical College System of Georgia.
She will now work for Middle Georgia State University as executive director of the Georgia Military Academic Training Center, according to a news release. The center is expected to open this spring, but a date has not been set.
The center aims to help veterans transition from military service to the civilian workforce.
The 32,000-square-foot facility will be operated jointly by Middle Georgia State University and Central Georgia Technical College. The two schools will work with veterans individually to ensure that military training and experience is recognized as the veterans pursue degrees.
The center is located off Ga. 247 behind Huntington Middle School, which is close to Robins Air Force Base.
