One critical, three hurt in crash on Hawkinsville Road

A 46-year-old woman is in critical condition and others were injured in a two-car crash on Hawkinsville Road at South Avondale Circle after 7:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

A 65-year-old McDonough woman was driving her daughter and another man in a gray Chrystler traveling southbound on Hawkinsville Road when the car was struck by a Lincoln Town Car driven by a 27-year-old Macon man, the release said.

All four people were taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health where they were treated for injuries. The woman's daughter, Kimberly Walker, is in critical condition and the three others are listed as stable, according to the release.

The northbound lanes remained closed at 10:45 p.m. as the crash was being investigated, but Deputy Clay Williams said he expected the road would open soon.
