Three women killed in fiery Fort Valley crash

Three women died when a car collided with an 18-wheeler in Fort Valley on Saturday night.

Two of the victims were Fort Valley State University students, said Peach County Coroner Kerry Rooks.

He identified them as Precious Waters and Kearsten Robinson, both 19, of the Americus area.

Rooks said the two were in a Honda traveling on Woolfolk Road when they pulled onto Ga. 49 and collided with a truck that was carrying fertilizer.

The driver of the truck Georgia Harris, 55, of Macon, was also killed in the wreck. The truck belonged to South East Carriers of Lawerenceburg, Tennessee.

The accident happened shortly after 10 p.m. The vehicles burst into flames and both vehicles burned completely.

Rooks said it was one of the worst wrecks he has seen.
