Man killed as car crashes into concrete barrier on I-75
A crash on Interstate 75 in south Bibb County claimed the life of a 40-year-old man.
Just after 10 p.m. Wednesday, Darrell Carson, of Roberta, lost control of his Chevrolet Impala near the Hartley Bridge Road exit on I-75 South, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The Chevy hit the concrete barrier in the middle of the highway.
Carson was taken to Medical Center, Navicent Health, where he was pronounced dead.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal wreck.
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said there have been nearly three dozen traffic fatalities in the county so far this year.
Nine pedestrians suffered fatal injuries, and 23 other people died in car crashes.
