Golfer Rory McIlroy and Wife Erica Stoll Make Rare Appearance at Wimbledon

Golfer Rory McIlroy and his wife, Erica Stoll, were all smiles at Wimbledon.

While enjoying their outing in London, the couple was spotted inside the Royal Box on Tuesday, June 30. In one image, McIlroy, 37, and Stoll, 38, shared a sweet smooch while they watched the match.

McIlroy sported his Masters green jacket, which has been gifted to the winner of the tournament since 1949, with a matching green tie, white shirt and khaki pants. Stoll, meanwhile, opted for a white dress and styled her hair down in loose waves.

McIlroy and Stoll began dating in 2015, tying the knot two years later. The pair welcomed daughter Poppy in 2020. Four years later, Us Weekly confirmed that McIlroy filed to end his and Stoll's marriage after seven years of marriage.

"Rory McIlroy's communications team confirmed today that a divorce has been filed," a spokeswoman for McIlroy told the Irish Star in 2024. "They stressed Rory's desire to ensure this difficult time is as respectful and amicable as possible. He will not be making any further comment."

One month later, McIlroy filed to dismiss the divorce and he rekindled his romance with Stoll. The twosome then appeared at their first public event together following the relationship news at the U.S. Open tournament in 2024. McIlroy discussed his private life during a confessional in season 3 of Netflix's Full Swing, which premiered in 2025.

"I've always tried to be protective of my loved ones from people that have ill intentions," he said. "I think it was a wake-up call for me to say, ‘Let's just focus on the golf for a little bit.'"

He continued, "I've been at this a long time. I've been on tour for 17, 18 years. I like when the attention is on my golf. Sometimes that is impossible."

The following year, McIlroy took home a Masters win - and gave his wife, daughter and parents a sweet shout-out during his acceptance speech.

"First and foremost, my wife and daughter, Erica and Poppy," McIlroy said in April. "They have to put up with me at home, and trust me, sometimes that's a tough thing to do."

He continued, "They have been my biggest supporters, and this has definitely turned into Poppy's favorite week of the year. I don't know if it's because of the Par 3 Tournament, or all you can eat ice cream in the players' services building."
