NBA's Jaden Ivey and Wife Provide Update on Relationship Amid Controversy

NBA star Jaden Ivey and his wife, Caitlyn Ivey, are still going strong after he was waived by the Chicago Bulls for making controversial statements about Pride Month.

Jaden, 24, shared a picture of the couple via Instagram on Monday, April 27, showing the basketball player with his arm around his wife as they both smiled for the camera.

"Thank you Jesus for saving us," Jaden captioned the photo. "Thank you for your mercy and goodness towards us."

He also shared a Bible verse, which read, "Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, And obtaineth favour of the LORD."

Caitlyn reposted the picture to her Instagram Story, writing, "🤍🤍 my love."

Jaden and Caitlyn got married in 2022 and share sons Noah, 3, and Isaiah, 13 months, and daughter Shiloh, 2.

The Bulls announced they had waived Jaden for "conduct detrimental to the team" on March 30, after he appeared on a live stream making derogatory remarks about the NBA's support of Pride Month and the LGBTQIA+ community.

"The world proclaims LGBTQ, right?" Jaden said on the stream. "They proclaim Pride Month and the NBA does, too. They show it to the world. They say, ‘Come join us for Pride Month to celebrate unrighteousness.' They proclaim it on the billboards. They proclaim it on the streets. Unrighteousness."

On another live stream the following day, Jaden suggested that Caitlyn had dropped contact with him after he was waived.

"My wife in here, and she not even texting me," Jaden said. "Those who are around me, those who are my family members betraying [me] because of what I spoke. The truth. Betraying me. Saying that I'm losing my mind. Saying that I'm crazy. … Those are my own household. All because of the Gospel. All because I said the truth."

Caitlyn took to social media the next day to tell her side of the story.

"If you know me you know I have never once abandoned that man through all the trials.. and I still haven't now," she wrote via her Instagram Story. "There is obviously a lot going on, so leave your conspiracies and your guesses to yourselves."

In another post she addressed claims that she "only wanted" to be with Jaden because of his career in the NBA, firing back, "We were communicating all morning of that day. People say things for attention, do not be deceived."

Caitlyn also shared a collage of hateful messages she had received after Jaden insinuated she had cut him off.

"These DM's (and many more) over one lie spoke on my name," she wrote.
