Spring just got so much sweeter.

Food Network’s ‘Spring Baking Championship: Easter’ premieres next week and one of Macon’s very own will be competing for the crown, or in this case, the Golden Easter Egg with $25,000 in it.

“It was the best experience in my life,” said Timothy Hamrah. “I was literally a kid in a candy store.”

Hamrah is a baker and cake decorator and has worked in Macon locations such as Sam’s Club and he also has his own bakery business called Enchanted Bakes by Timothy.

Now, he’s competing against eight other highly talented and skilled bakers on the network that peaked his interest.

“I found my passion for baking when I first discovered the Food Network,” he said. “Especially ‘Sweet Dreams’ with Gale Gand. She was definitely an inspiration to me.”

Hamrah said he didn’t fully find talent in cake decorating until he moved to Florida and began working as a cake decorator at a grocery store.

Then, once he moved to Macon, his career really took off and he began baking for families all across town.

“I’ve made birthday cakes for clients, then wedding cakes and after that baby shower cakes and now kids cakes,” he said. “It’s definitely leaving behind a legacy in cake form.”

So, how did he end up on the show?

Hamrah said his process to get on the show all started with a call and then came the real test.

“The next step is trying your best to impress the producers with baking ideas, making something original and special, especially for Easter-themed bakes,” he said.

Hamrah’s experience on the show was bittersweet, to say the least.

“The whole cast and set was so sweet and uplifting,” he said. “Without saying too much, I got to show my true colors as a baker and there may be some tears of joy.”

While we can’t reveal if he won the Golden Easter Egg and that whopping $25,000 prize, we can say that Hamrah learned a lot while on the show. He said one thing he learned that stuck with him after the show was to embrace being a kid and bake to make memories, not just cake.

“At the end of the day, it’s just cake,” he said. “But it’s the memory that stays with us.”

When he isn’t baking, you can find him painting, cuddling with his cats or watching TikToks.

Catch him on the premiere of ‘Spring Baking Championship: Easter’ on Monday, March 6.
