When will Taco Mac open in Macon? Here’s what we know about the sports bar

A popular sports bar announced its opening date for its location in Macon.

Taco Mac, at 5433 Bowman Road, will have its grand opening celebration Nov. 30 at 10 a.m. just in time for the new year, said Todd Casale, local owner and operator of the Macon Taco Mac.

The popular sports restaurant is known for its buffalo-style chicken wings and has serviced the Georgia community for 40 years. The location off of the Bass Road exit of Interstate 75 could bring more than 150 jobs to the Middle Georgia area, Casale told The Telegraph in a previous article.

The 7,500-square-foot Taco Mac restaurant has open positions on their website for a cook, server, manager and host. To apply, visit tacomac.com/career or text “MAC” to 97211 to find out more information.

To fit the sports bar theme, the restaurant will have a 165-inch television as well as more than 40 65-inch televisions throughout the building.

Taco Mac began in 1969 when the original owners were heading to Florida from Buffalo, New York, and decided to stop in Atlanta. They decided to stay and bring their favorite food, buffalo wings, with them, according to Taco Mac’s website. The name suggests Mexican-style dishes because the original owners had to choose between updating the sign for the original location or updating the kitchen appliances. The kept the sign “Taco Mac” and updated the kitchen.

In addition to buffalo-style chicken wings, the restaurant has given into its name and also serves tacos, nachos and quesadillas as well as burgers along with a long taplist of craft beers.
