Fatty’s Pizza reflects new owners’ flair
The former Mainstreet Pizza has a new owner, with its sister restaurant Parrish just around the corner. It’s basically the same menu, revamped to reflect the fun and flair of the new owners.
The day we came, the pizza of the day was barbecue chicken, a 16-incher for just $12.99. Every specialty pizza has a personal-sized version, which is nice at lunchtime especially. To stretch our dollars, we ordered the special, two personal sizes, a calzone, 10 wings and a salad, totaling less than $50 for the whole shebang.
The Chubby Cal calzone for $7.99 is essentially a folded three topping personal pizza and the Fat Cal for $16.99 is a large one with five toppings. Other than containing a bit more sauce than the unfolded version, the calzones are really just a way the keep everything together while you eat it.
They have all the specialty pizzas you would expect — supreme, Hawaiian, veggie, all meat — plus a Mother Klucker with chicken and bacon with ranch dressing and a Hot Clucker with jalapeños and hot sauce added. All personal pizzas are between $6 and $13; all 16-inch pizzas are between $10 and $18. Either can be made gluten-free for an additional $2.
Wings are a little less than $1 each but were tiny. We tried the garlic Parmesan and the barbecue, but they have lemon pepper, teriyaki, and “nekked,” too. Our grilled chicken salad with just the basics was $6.99. Their “Slice slice, baby” lunch special includes two slices and a drink for $4.92.
We enjoyed the garlic kinks for $3.99 for a basketful, and the sweet kinks with icing and cinnamon were a filling dessert for $5.99. We were not crazy about the cannoli, two for $5.99.
Finally, out back is a great area for live music and parties. A lovely evening out would be a couple of pizzas and a pitcher, outside in the courtyard, listening to a local musician.
