Merle Haggard concert tickets to be refunded; new show with Jason Isbell, Tommy Emmanuel planned

Those who bought tickets to the Merle Haggard show May 18 in Macon will receive refunds after the country music legend's death Wednesday.

Haggard had been scheduled to play the Macon City Auditorium with Jason Isbell and special guest Tommy Emmanuel. For those who bought tickets online or over the phone, refunds will be automatic. Those who bought tickets at outlets will need to return to the original point of purchase for a refund, said Courtney Harper, publicist for the Macon Centreplex, which includes the City Auditorium.

But while the original concert is canceled, a new show will go on.

Isbell and Emmanuel will still perform at 7:30 p.m. May 18 at the City Auditorium. Tickets, which cost $25, go on sale at 10 a.m. April 15. Those who bought tickets to the previous show will still need to buy tickets to attend this new event.
