MY2K tour keeps summer sizzling
The MY2K Tour brings the heat — and a big wave of 1990s nostalgia — to the Grand Opera House stage Saturday as it reunites the members of 98 Degrees, Dream and O-Town.
With only one stop in Georgia, there is little doubt that the show will be packed with fans of all ages, most of whom still have the songs memorized, and who will undoubtedly be singing along with all of their favorites. For those gals who still own their ‘90s boy-band T-shirts, these bands will bring back all the best memories, while helping create new ones at the same time.
If just seeing Nick Lachey from the back row isn’t enough, true super-fans have the opportunity to purchase a VIP upgrade for $99, which includes a meet-and-greet reception and exclusive acoustic performances with members of 98 Degrees, a VIP Lounge, early entry and one commemorative MY2K VIP laminate. A separate ticket must be purchased for the VIP upgrade.
98 Degrees, one of the original boy bands of the late 1990s, reunites its original four members Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, Justin Jeffre and Jeff Timmons. By 2002, their memorable vocal harmonizing had sold 10 million albums and solidified their place as one of music’s most influential pop bands. Some crowd favorites include the hit singles “Because of You,” “I Do” and “The Hardest Thing.”
Melissa Schuman, Ashley Poole, Diana Ortiz and Holly Restani (formerly Holly Arnstein) have reunited their band Dream for the first time since they broke up in 2003. Best known for their hit single “He Loves U No,” a news release claims that Dream “represents a generation of both men and women who grew up during arguably the best time in ‘pop music’ culture. Loved for their down to earth nature, authenticity, killer harmonies and vocals, Dream is now returning with an even stronger message with this tour and new music. Life-long fans and new fans alike can expect content focusing on empowerment, individuality and honesty.”
“Making the Band” alums O-Town — who reunited in 2013 as a quartet, sans Ashley Parker Angel — will hit the stage to perform some of its most well-known hits, including “All or Nothing,” “Liquid Dreams” and “We Fit Together.”
Having spent 10 years apart before reuniting, members of O-Town have grown from their experiences in individual careers. Now, according to a news release, they promise that this time around, the performance is “for the fans and everyone who has supported us from the beginning.”
