Summer Theater Festival

See three shows on three different stages. The great Fats Waller musical “Ain’t Misbehavin’ ” will open July 1 at Theatre Macon, 438 Cherry St. The classic Broadway musical “42nd St.” will open July 8 at the Grand Opera House, 651 Mulberry St. The hilarious take on Shakespeare’s “The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged)” will open July 7 at Mercer University’s Tattnall Square Center for the Arts. The Georgia Trust Expedition: Buggy Through Barnesville

Tour 11 of Barnesville’s most historic homes and properties, many of which were built by the barons of the buggy industry at the turn of the 20th century, during a self-guided tour of homes. Also, explore two of the area’s oldest churches and Gordon State College’s historic buildings. The tour begins with a brief orientation at the Lamar County Schools Fine Arts Center, and a closing reception with drinks and light hors d’ouerves will be held at the Barnesville Depot.
