Grammy winner Jason Mraz to perform at Grand Opera House
“An Evening with Jason Mraz and His Guitar” will bring the Grammy Award-winning musician to the Grand Opera House on Thursday.
Mraz may be best known for his song “I’m Yours,” which at 76 weeks on the charts, “holds the record for remaining on Billboard’s Hot 100 longer than any other solo artist single in history” and “was the first ever song to top charts on four different USA radio formats,” according to a news release.
The song was nominated for two Grammy Awards, Song of the Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
Mraz himself has won two Grammys, for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance on “Make It Mine” and Best Pop Collaboration for “Lucky.”
He also has been awarded the Hal David Starlight Award, the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Male Artist and the Teen Choice Award for Choice Male Artist.
The singer-songwriter got his start in San Diego coffeehouses and now sells out arenas worldwide, in addition to being a farmer-gardener, filmmaker, photographer and global activist.
