The Revivalists with Trae Pierce and the T-Stone Band

FRIDAY AT THE COX CAPITOL THEATRE

The ticket stubs for this show should come with a “dancing shoes required” label. While New Orleans-based the Revivalists admit that they “lean more heavily on the older styles and warmer sounds of the golden age of rock ‘n’ roll,” their sound is not one that is easily described and certainly cannot be pigeon-holed, except for the fact that their sound consistently demands movement. Grammy winner Trae Pierce and the T-Stone band get the whole party started with their blend of funk, hip-hop, rock and blues, all driven by the funky bass of Trae Pierce. Doors: 7 p.m./show: 8 p.m. $20-$22.

Red Sea, Jake Tobin, Ben Varian, Pamela_ and her sons and Gurgle Twins

FRIDAY AT FRESH PRODUCE RECORDS

This one’s another grab bag of fun from the fine folks at Fresh Produce Records. The five bands on the bill range stylistically from “hyper-relaxation pop” to drone freakout. They’re coming from as far away as Olympia, Washington, and as close as right here in town. Open your ears, open your mind and celebrate the summer by getting a little weird. You won’t find anything else like this in town. 9 p.m. $5.

Robert Lee Coleman and the Night Owls

SATURDAY AT THE HUMMINGBIRD STAGE AND TAPROOM

The Nightowls is a local blues trio that grew up watching, listening to and learning from the one and only Robert Lee Coleman. In a town known for its music legends, Coleman’s resume stands out. In a career that is approaching half a century, Coleman has toured with Percy Sledge and played guitar on James Brown records. The Night Owls will be joined by their mentor when they return to the Hummingbird on Friday night. 10:30 p.m. $5.

Second Sunday featuring the JAM All Stars

SUNDAY AT COLEMAN HILL

You know the drill by now: Bring your picnic baskets, chairs, blankets and coolers to join friends and family for this free event that’s loved across the community. This iteration of Second Sunday brings the JAM All Stars to the stage, a group that’s made up of members of the Jazz Association of Macon, an organization that’s existed for 30 years to bring together lovers of the jazz genre. 6 p.m. Free.

“An Evening with Jason Mraz and His Guitar”

THURSDAY AT THE GRAND OPERA HOUSE

As the name implies, this is going to be a very special, intimate show for fans of Jason Mraz, who is coming through town with just his guitar in tow to try out some new material in preparation for the release of a new album. Surely he’ll also revisit some old favorites like “I’m Yours” and “I Won’t Give Up,” songs that have garnered multiple Grammy nominations and helped the singer-songwriter sell multi-platinum records and headline arenas across the globe. Doors: 7:30 p.m./show: 8:30 p.m. $55-$75.
