Good Night Alive with Fighting Sides, Choir of Babble, Sleep Dance and Hindsight

AT FRESH PRODUCE RECORDS

Five bands for under 10 bucks? Check. Supporting a reincarnation of Macon Venue Project, whose main goal is to put on all-ages shows in Macon? Check. Headliner Good Night Alive took home most of the awards in the music category at the recent 11th Hour Awards, and for good reason. Those guys have it goin on. The bill is filled out with four more bands for what will certainly be a night of great music supporting a great organization and Macon’s coolest lil’ venue. 7 p.m. $5-$7.

Corner Concerts Live at 5/4

SATURDAY AT THE 5/4 MUSIC SPACE

There’s been activity going on in the old Tubman Museum building at the end of Walnut Street. The space has been repurposed into rehearsal rooms and studios for musicians looking to hone their craft and collaborate. Corner Concerts will be showcasing a few of the bands that are making music in the space, including Hindsight, the BearCats, One Horse Parade, African Americana (who recently won best experimental band at the 11th Hour Awards) and Choir of Babble for this special show. 7:30 p.m. $5.

Plains, Michael Jordan, Corner Coronah and Drew Price

SUNDAY AT FRESH PRODUCE RECORDS

Plains is the brain-child of Travis Swinford, who hails from Alabama and has been on a search for real rock ‘n’ roll for the better part of the last decade. They claim that the full band experience will “help you forget the world and loosen your grip on the things that you can't control.” Plains is joined on this leg of their tour by Drew Price and his brand of super chill tunes that he uses to try and “cool it down in Birmingham.” The bill is filled out by the unearthly sounds of Corner Coronah mystery local fan boy Mr. Michael Jordache, whose namesake may have developed those acid washed jeans that your mama wore in 1985. 9 p.m.

Grace Potter with OJR

THURSDAY AT THE COX CAPITOL THEATRE

There are only two women that have signature Gibson electric guitars. One is Joan Jett. The other is Grace Potter. And it’s a Flying V, no less. Potter spent over a decade fronting the blues rockers Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, which saw her share the stage with folks as diverse as Robert Plant, Kenny Chesney and Govt. Mule. Now she’s back with a solo record that incorporates a bit more pop sheen, but still possesses her signature rocking style. Doors: 7 p.m./Show: 8 p.m. $37.50-$42.
