Make-End Maker Festival highlights innovation, creation
From clothing to robots, products created by "makers" from around Georgia will take center stage at the Make-End Maker Festival happening Saturday and Sunday in Tattnall Square Park, said Nadia Osman, director of revitalization and business initiatives for the College Hill Alliance.
According to its website, the festival celebrates "people who create original art, craft or technology-based works."
A few of the products on display include paintings, sculptures, jewelry, woodwork and handcrafted guitars.
The festival will feature local and national speakers, 3D interactive exhibits and six large attractions.
"The attractions include a 30-foot tall robot with fire elements; Science in the Movies, which will allow attendees to become an action hero; and the Rippl3d Wind Turbine Challenge, in which attendees can print their own wind turbine with a 3D printer and compete against others. We will have music by Ponytrap, which is made up of trained musicians and robotic drummers," Osman said.
At 6 p.m. Sunday, festival-goers can join or watch an illuminated bike parade for the grand finale.
