Those Cats, Tash & the Boys and African Americana

FRIDAY AT THE HUMMINGBIRD STAGE AND TAPROOM

Those Cats, from Statesboro, started out as a four-piece band back in 2010, but have expanded their lineup (and their sound) to a full-fledged seven-piece outfit with funky rhythms that aims to get the crowd moving. The evening gets started with two great local acts, Tash & the Boys and African Americana. 10 p.m. $5.

Radio Birds, Good Night Alive, Bootz and Katz and DJ B3

SATURDAY AT THE HUMMINGBIRD STAGE AND TAPROOM

As if Halloween couldn't get any more awesome, the Bird will be providing three bands and one of the most active (and talented) DJs under one roof to commemorate the day some call Hallow's Eve. The evening begins with Good Night Alive playing material off their new record. Then, Radio Birds (from Atlanta) and Bootz and Katz will bring the noise -- like they always do -- followed by DJ B3 playing some monster jams to close out the evening. Wear your costume and get ready for a good time. 10 p.m. $5.

"For All the Saints"

SUNDAY AT VINEVILLE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Considering the proximity to All Saints Day, it seems only fitting for the Choral Society of Middle Georgia and the Mercer University Choir, under the direction of Mercer's Stanley Roberts, to present the program "For All the Saints." The main feature of the program will be "Requiem for the Living" by Dan Forrest and several other selections centering around a similar theme. 4 p.m. $10.

R. Ariel and Dean Brown

SUNDAY AT FRESH PRODUCE RECORDS

Fresh Produce Records continues to impress with eclectic and fascinating musical selections. R. Ariel is a musician, photographer, videographer and writer from Phoenix, Arizona. Brian Eno (yes, that Brian Eno) selected her as the Best New Artist at the UK Noise Festival in 2014, describing her sound as "what nostalgia feels like." She will be joined by none other than local reggae troubadour and musician extraordinaire Dean Brown, who you probably have heard playing in front of Parish most Fridays these days. You also may have seen him on a billboard or two. 8:30 p.m. Free.

Saxophonist Michael Bovenzi

TUESDAY AT MERCER UNIVERSITY'S FICKLING HALL

According to Mercer University's website, "Michael Bovenzi is an active soloist of contemporary music and has performed and premiered numerous works at meetings of the North American Saxophone Alliance and the Society for Electro-Acousic Music in the United States. His studio recording of Ed Martin's 'Apparitions' appears on the compact disc 'Wavefields,' a compilation of music from the Experimental Music Studios of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign." 7:30 p.m. Free.
