Middle Georgians can travel not only “around the rotunda in 80 dishes,” but also around the world on a culinary adventure Sunday at the Tubman African American Museum’s annual Taste of Soul.

Local companies, organizations and chefs will prepare food from countries including India, China, Mexico and Germany, to name a few, said Harold Young, the museum’s special events manager. Special guest chef G. Garvin, cookbook author and host of the Food Network’s “Road Trip with G. Garvin” also will attend.

“He will meet guests and sign his books, and he’ll be bringing in spices and will give a presentation,” said Young.

In addition to tasting the world’s soul food, guests will be treated to performances by KHicks Contemporary Ballroom dancers, Paula East and Hayiya Dance Theater, who will be performing line dancing, salsa and an African interpretative dance, respectively.

“It’s not just food this year; it’s going to be an experience,” Young said.
