‘Idol’ winner Fantasia to perform in Macon
“American Idol” winner Fantasia will bring the soulful sounds of her latest album to the City Auditorium on Saturday.
Released in July, the album, “The Definition Of…,” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B Album chart and includes the songs “Sleeping With The One I Love,” “No Time for It,” “Stay Up” and “I Made It.” It is Fantasia’s fifth album since she won the third season of American Idol in 2004 when she was just 19 years old, according to her website.
With her debut album, “Free Yourself,” she “became the first artist in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart to debut at No. 1 with her first single, ‘I Believe’,” according to the site.
Since then, she has authored a memoir, “Life Is Not a Fairytale” and acted on television and Broadway in addition to recording and touring.
The Grammy Award-winning singer will be performing hits from all of her albums, and guest artists Guordon Banks and La’Porsha Renae, a fellow American Idol star, will also perform.
