Pop star Aaron Carter is coming to Macon on Thursday for a performance at the Cox Capitol Theatre.

Carter’s career began in 1995 when he was just 7, singing for the band Dead End, according to a news release.

He made his first solo appearance opening for the Backstreet Boys, his brother Nick Carter’s band, in Berlin, two years later.

His first album, “Aaron Carter,” achieved gold status in several countries and his next album, “Aaron’s Party,” released in 2000, went triple platinum.

His singles include “Crush on You,” “I Want Candy,” “That’s How I Beat Shaq” and “I’m All About You.” Carter’s 2013 tour “was initially scheduled for 80 shows across North America but quickly grew to more than 150 dates,” according to the release.

Now 28, he has appeared in film, television and on Broadway and is currently working on a new album and tour.
