Those wishing to cement Macon's reputation as the Cherry Blossom Capital of the World can buy trees at two locations during the Cherry Blossom Festival.

Beginning Friday through April 3, the Keep-Macon Bibb Beautiful Commission will be selling trees from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the old Exchange building behind the old driver's license bureau near the entrance to Central City Park on Willie Smokey Glover Drive.

The trees will cost $10 each.

Those only wishing to buy trees do not have to pay admission prices to get into the park.

A booth also will be open at the Mulberry Street Festival from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on April 2 and April 3.

Commission President Pam Carswell said 200 trees were sold in the week leading up to Friday's 3 p.m. ribbon cutting ceremony.
