Cherry Blossom Festival Best Bets for Saturday
There's so much to do on the second Saturday of the Cherry Blossom Festival that the Best Bets includes a dozen items. Among them are the Mulberry Street Arts and Crafts Festival, Kids CherryDazzle, All-American Lumberjack Show and Cherry Blossom Music Festival. 1.) Pink Pancake Breakfast: 7-10 a.m., Central City Park, Willie Smokey Glover Drive. Presented by the Macon-Bibb Fire Department. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. $5.
2.) 18th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival Mustang and All Ford Car Show: 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Central City Park, Willie Smokey Glover Drive. Drive in your own Ford or just admire those on display. Free.
3.) Macon Mud Run: 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Hephzibah Children’s Home, 6601 Zebulon Road. The challenging 5K and 7K course is filled with challenging obstacles and tons of mud to slide around in. Races for al ages, individuals and teams. $15-$75.
4.) Mulberry Street Arts and Crafts Festival: 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Mulberry Street. The city’s oldest outdoor arts and crafts show features more than 200 vendors. Free.
5.) Kids CherryDazzle: 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Central City Park, Willie Smokey Glover Drive. Face painting, games, mascots and prizes. For kids of all ages. Free.
6.) Motorcycle Exhibit: 12:30-3:30 p.m., Central City Park, Willie Smokey Glover Drive. Cruise in on two wheels and check out other rides. Free.
7.) All-American Lumberjack Show: 3 p.m., Macon Coliseum, 200 Coliseum Drive. The show features traditional lumberjack skills such as log rolling, plus log carving, axe throwing, hot saw racing and more. $12.
8.) Food Truck Frenzy: Noon-7 p.m., Third Street at Mulberry Street. Gourmet food trucks from around the South featuring the latest trends in culinary culture. Free.
9.) Cherry Blossom Music Festival: 5 p.m., various locations in downtown Macon. In pub-crawl style, a variety of venues host many performers. Hop from one to the other and enjoy hours of live music. $10 for one venue; $15 all access in advance; $20 all access day of.
10.) Prince Neo: 6:30-8 p.m., Coca-Cola Entertainment Stage, Central City Park, Willie Smokey Glover Drive. R&B and neo soul music. Free.
11.) Ocmulgee National Monument Lantern Light Tours: 7:30-9 p.m., 1207 Emery Highway. Guided and self-guided tours that are one mile round-trip. $5.
12.) Departure: 8:30-11 p.m., Coca-Cola Entertainment Stage, Central City Park, Willie Smokey Glover Drive. Journey tribute artist. Free.
