Cherry Blossom Festival

Cherry Blossom Festival returns Friday. Here are 5 things to know before you go

The Pinkest Party on Earth is coming to town March 18-27. That’s right–the Cherry Blossom Festival is back in Macon and is celebrating 40 years.

There are plenty of fun events, great food options and family friendly activities, but there are a few new things at the festival this year.

We’ve rounded up 5 things to know before you go and here’s what we found:

1. Clear bag policy

Guests are allowed to carry a clear bag. No tinted, patterned or mesh bags. Guests that show up with a bag that is not clear will be asked to return the bag to their vehicle. See more about the bag policy, including information about medical and diaper bags, on the Policies and Procedures page.

2. Dog Days

The Dog Days of Downtown is a new set of events for the 2022 festival. It includes the Air Dogs Competition, Weiner Dog Race and Pinkest Puppy Party. Visit the festival’s homepage for more information.

3. Cherry Blossom Trails

Take the scenic route around Macon and experience the city in full bloom with more than 350,000 Yoshino cherry blossom trees. The places with the best view include Wesleyan College, Ridge Avenue and Ingleside Avenue. For other locations, please see the full map.

4. Children 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult (21 or older). Guests are subject to an ID check.

5. Download the app

The 40th Cherry Blossom Festival now has an app. Download the app for festival updates, maps, event schedules and more.
