‘Dancing with the Stars' Pro Brandon Armstrong Leaves Tour Due to Injury

Brandon Armstrong is stepping away from the "Dancing with the Stars" Live tour after breaking his elbow.

The "DWTS" pro, 31, announced his departure from the tour in a TikTok video on April 25, explaining, "No easy way to say this and, honestly, I'm super bummed but you can tell I'm hurt."

Noting that he's "been dealing with a little problem in my elbow for awhile," Armstrong shared that the injury recently worsened.

"A few shows ago, I was doing a little thing and it just went south," he shared. "Long story short, I have a broken elbow. I broke a bone in my elbow. Could be a lot worse, [but it] could obviously be a lot better."

Armstrong said doctors and the tour's medical staff advised him to return home to determine the next steps in his recovery and focus on getting healthy again.

He went on to reflect on why he wanted to be part of the live show after becoming a "DWTS" pro, saying, "I remember when I was first on the show, I didn't get the opportunity to go on tour and I saw my friends going out and performing live, but really getting to meet you guys every night, and I wanted that so bad.”

“I wanted to be able to meet you guys and interact with you so me not being able to finish this tour, especially when we're so close, it's so hard for me to accept that," he added. "I'm going to miss that. I'm going to miss you guys and I think that's the hardest thing for me."

Armstrong ended his message on a positive note sharing that he plans to be back for "DWTS" Con, which is set for July 31 through August 2 in Palm Springs, Calif.

"The good news is me going home a little bit early is going to allow me to get healthy sooner," Armstrong shared. "Because at the end of the summer, I cannot wait to come out and see you guys at [DWTS] Con. I can't wait to come out there, dance for you guys."

Armstrong's wife Brylee also posted about her husband's injury and thanked the cast for their support.

"Just want to say thank you to the cast for being like family to @brandonarmstrong. Taking care of him for the last 4 months and just being there for him always," she shared on her Instagram Story on April 27. "Love them all so much."

The "Dancing with the Stars" Live tour is set to conclude on May 13 in Akron, Ohio.
