'DWTS' Pro to Leave Tour Due to Injury: 'I'm Super Bummed'
Dancing with the Starspro Brandon Armstrong will be leaving the show's tour earlier than expected.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday, the dancer shared in a video message that due to a broken elbow, he'll be heading home to seek further medical attention.
"No easy way to say this and obviously I'm super bummed but as you can tell, I'm hurt," Armstrong, whose arm was in a sling, said. "Long story short, I have a broken elbow. It could be a lot worse, it could obviously be a lot better, so I spoke with the doctor and I've been counseled from that doctor and the team on tour that I need to go home and look at it and try to figure it out, see what the next steps are so that I can get healthy again."
Armstrong, who has been a pro on the ballroom dance competition show for 8 seasons, also spoke about how being on tour and meeting fans was so special to him as he thanked everyone for their support.
"I remember when I was first on the show I didn't get the opportunity to go on tour and I saw my friends going out and performing live but really getting to meet you guys every night and I wanted that so bad," he recalled. "So me not able to finish this tour, especially when we're so close, it's so hard for me to accept that, I'm going to miss that, I'm going to miss you guys and I think that's what's the hardest thing for me."
Looking on the bright side though, Armstrong said he's looking forward to getting better so he can be back to dancing for the DWTS fan convention happening later this summer.
"I cannot wait to come out see you guys at Con," he said. "I can't wait to come out there [and] dance for you guys."
And while Armstrong's post was flooded with well wishes from fans, fellow pros also took to the comments with support.
"I'm gonna miss you," Ezra Sosa wrote, while both Alan Bersten and Emma Slater wrote, "Love you, B."
"B, going to miss you so much! Love you!" added Britt Stewart.

Armstrong isn't the first pro to undergo a medical issue while on tour. In March, Val Chmerkovskiy was hospitalized for vertigo and missed a few shows.
The tour, which features pros and a rotation of stars that competed in the show's Season 34, including winner Robert Irwinand contestant Danielle Fishel, kicked off in January and will end in May.
'Dancing with the Stars' Con will take place in Palm Springs from July 31–August 2.
