Macon-Bibb County extends pool and splash pad season. How long will they be open?
School may have started, but Macon families can still beat the heat at public pools and splash pads.
Macon-Bibb County said Wednesday it will keep pools and splash pads open through the end of August. They were previously scheduled to close in early August.
Pools and splash pads will be open every Saturday for the rest of the month.
Armand Burnett, assistant director of the Recreation Department, said the county is excited to offer this opportunity to the community.
“Since we’re still dealing with hot weather, we want to give families more opportunities to enjoy our pools and splash pads,” Burnett said.
Locations for pools, which will be open in every Saturday in August, include:
- Delores A. Brooks Recreation Center
- Frank Johnson Recreation Center
- South Bibb Recreation Center
Locations for splash pads, which will also be open every Saturday in August, include:
- Daisy Park
- Rosa Jackson Recreation Center
- Freedom Park
- South Bibb Recreation Center
Pools and pads will be open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Pool entry is $1.
