Georgia College’s Gentry earns Peach Belt freshman award

Georgia College third baseman Cal Gentry was named the Peach Belt Conference’s Freshman of the Week on Monday.

It marks the second time Gentry, a former Perry standout, has earned the award.

Gentry went 9-for-15 with 11 RBI and seven runs scored in three games last week. In a series-clinching win over Georgia Southwestern on Saturday, he went 6-for-6 with a home run, seven RBI, a double and four runs scored.
