Fort Valley State women advance in SIAC Tournament

Senior forward Shekiya Tarpkins had a big game Thursday to lead the Fort Valley State women to an 81-65 win over Miles in the quarterfinals of the SIAC Tournament.

Tarpkins had 32 points and eight rebounds, freshman point guard Daknequa White had 22 points and Nola Carter added nine rebounds.

The Wildcats advance to the semifinals and will play Benedict at 1 p.m. on Friday.
