Mercer lacrosse adds player from Perry through Team IMPACT
The newest member of the Mercer women’s lacrosse program was officially introduced earlier this week as 8-year-old McKenna Moon signed her national-letter-of-intent during a Team IMPACT Draft Day event.
Team IMPACT (Inspire, Motivate, Play Against Challenges Together) is a non-profit Boston organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses.
Moon, a Perry native, was joined at the news conference by her parents, Amanda and William, and her sister Grace. Moon, who has Mitochondrial Encephalomyopathy — a type of mitochondrial disease —will attend practices, games and events during the upcoming spring season for the Bears.
Mercer head coach Samantha Eustace, her staff and members of the 2017 Mercer team presented Moon with an official jersey, a lacrosse stick and other team gear.
