Peach County moves closer to No. 1 in GHSA Class 3A

The Peach County Trojans won their fifth straight game Friday, knocking off Central, and the Trojans continued their climb in the Georgia Sports Writers Association’s GHSA Class 3A poll Tuesday.

The Trojans moved from No. 3 to No. 2, meaning Peach County is now the highest-ranked team from Middle Georgia.

In Class 6A, Houston County fell from No. 1 to No. 7 after its loss to Lee County, while Northside fell from No. 2 to No. 4 after a loss to Valdosta. Lee County is the new No. 1 team, while Valdosta is third.

The other ranked teams from Middle Georgia were Mary Persons (No. 8, Class 4A), Dublin (No. 10, Class 2A) and Macon County (No. 9, Class 1A).

Also receiving votes from Middle Georgia were Jones County (Class 5A), Washington County (Class 3A) and Twiggs County and Tattnall Square in Class 1A.
