Weather was the big winner Monday in the GHSA tennis playoffs, with matches at Stratford and FPD rained out.

Stratford tried to put on a doubleheader Monday, with the girls hosting Paideia and the boys hosting Weber. Instead, both teams will play at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

FPD also waited one more day for its first-round girls match, delaying its trip to Holy Innocents to Tuesday.

Teams have through Tuesday to complete their second-round matches (or, in Class 1A public/private, first-round matches).

Among the boys matches still not resolved as of mid-afternoon Monday, according to the GHSA website: Paideia-FPD, Jefferson-West Laurens, Mary Persons-North Oconee and Mount Zion-Taylor County.

Girls matches not resolved as of mid-afternoon Monday, also according to the GHSA website: Carrollton-Veterans (3:15 p.m. on Tuesday), Bremen-Peach County, St. Pius X-West Laurens, Bowdon-Taylor County, Mary Persons-North Oconee, Dodge County-Heard County, Dublin-Rockmart and Monticello-Davidson Arts.

In quarterfinal action already slated later this week, the Bleckley County boys host Screven County at 4 p.m. on Thursday. Quarterfinals must be played by Saturday.
