Four Middle Georgia teams set for home crossover games
Four area teams will be at home for the GHSA Region 4-1A’s first crossover games Friday.
Macon County, ranked 10th in the latest Georgia Sports Writers Association poll, will host Central-Talbotton while Taylor County welcomes Greenville. Marion County is at Crawford County and Hawkinsville is at home against Manchester.
Macon County and Manchester are sub-region champs, and play next week at Manchester for first overall in the region and the automatic playoff bid, although both are unofficially in the playoffs. And crossover play resumes next weeks, with the other subregion teams as hosts.
Macon County moved up to third in the latest Class 1A public power ratings, released Tuesday afternoon, pulling ahead of Manchester, which is is eighth in the GSWA poll.
The top 24 teams make the playoffs, with byes going to the top eight teams.
Taylor County is 10th, Dooly County 20th, Crawford County 28th and Hawkinsville 35th in the Class 1A power rankings.
