Warner Robins at Veterans (Thursday)

Veterans shares the lead with Thomas County Central. A win can put the Warhawks in mighty fine shape to get first, depending on some very possible positive scenarios playing out. Warner Robins has had a week to build off of the big romp over Harris County, and gets closer to a playoff spot with a win, but Game 10 will probably be huge, too.

East Laurens at Southwest (Thursday at Henderson Stadium)

Southwest clinches a playoff spot with a victory, and a win combined with Washington County win over Northeast clinches second place in Region 3-2A and a first-round home game.

Westside vs. Central (Henderson Stadium)

The winner all but wraps up a playoff spot. A loss wouldn’t cripple Westside’s chances, but Central is all but out should it lose.

Northside at Houston County

Big? Goodness. Houston County must win to stay alive for the playoffs. A Northside win keeps the Eagles alive for the top seed. And it’s the final meeting of two phenomenally successful game-changing quarterbacks, Tobias Oliver and Jake Fromm. Pads popping won’t be the only noise coming from the field.

Jones County at Stockbridge

Jones County needs to win to have a shot at second. And odds are against it, but in a roundabout way, a Greyhounds’ win keeps outside shots alive for first.

West Laurens at Upson-Lee

They’re tied in region, and Upson-Lee has the tougher 10th game, a resurgent Spalding. West Laurens has Perry. So the winner unofficially locks up second, so Mathews Field will be rocking: The Knights haven’t hosted a playoff game since 1993, the second season after R.E. Lee and Upson County consolidated.

Washington County at Northeast (Thompson Stadium)

Washington County clinches the Region 3-2A title with a win, while Northeast has to pull the upset in order to maintain its remote playoff hopes.

Tattnall Square at Stratford

A win puts Tattnall in the Region 7-A championship game Nov. 4 at the Region 7B-A champion. A Stratford win and a Twiggs County win over Wilkinson County sends the region race to a tiebreaker based on power ratings, where Twiggs County currently leads. A Stratford win and a Twiggs County loss puts Stratford in the region championship game.

GISA Playoffs

The first round of the GISA playoffs will take place Friday. Brackets had not been released as of press time.
