Georgia offensive tackle Tyler Catalina was working with the first-team offensive line at left tackle during individual drills at Monday’s practice.

With Catalina at left tackle, Isaiah Wynn moved inside and was practicing at left guard. The presumed goal all along was for Catalina to eventually earn the starting left tackle job and for Wynn to move back to left guard, where he began the 2015 season.

Catalina, a graduate transfer from Rhode Island, worked with both the first- and second-team offensive lines during Saturday’s scrimmage.

Catalina appeared to be doing a good job during practice, with offensive line coach Sam Pittman singling him out on at least one play.

“Nice rep, Cat,” Pittman said.

Wynn still took some reps at left tackle during the portion of practice open to the media.

In other tackle news, Kendall Baker and Aulden Bynum switched spots — with Baker going from right tackle to left tackle and Bynum moving from left tackle to right tackle. On Saturday, head coach Kirby Smart said Baker and Bynum were fighting for the fourth overall tackle spot behind Wynn, Catalina and starting right tackle Greg Pyke.

For two consecutive days in practice last week, Catalina was spotted with the third team during individual drills. But after Saturday’s scrimmage, it was clear that, according to Smart, Catalina was among the top six offensive linemen on the roster.

“We’ll have to figure out who our best five lineup is,” Smart said. “I think we have six I feel really good about. Where that starting five comes will be determined in the next week.”
