Georgia offensive lineman Greg Pyke underwent surgery to remove his appendix recently, The Telegraph has confirmed.

Pyke isn't expected to miss any game action and is expected to be ready for the season-opener against North Carolina. The Athens Banner-Herald's Fletcher Page was the first to report the story

Pyke, who was voted a preseason first-team All-SEC member by the media covering the league, may not miss much practice either. The recovery time following an appendectomy isn't typically too long.

Pyke started 10 of the 12 games he played in during the 2015 season. He spent the last two years as Georgia's starting right guard but moved to right tackle this spring. It's unknown if he'll remain at tackle or if he'll move back to guard by the time the season starts.
