Two Georgia players have moved positions at the start of bowl practices.

Michael Barnett, who had been working with the defensive line, is back to the offensive line group. Barnett was actually moved from the defensive line to the offensive line during Georgia's bye week but moved back to defense after an injury to DaQuan Hawkins-Muckle.

Now that Hawkins-Muckle, who missed the final four games of the regular season with a high ankle sprain, is healed and practicing, Barnett is back on offense. Head coach Kirby Smart said this move will likely be permanent.

"We had some issues there right at the end of the season that we weren’t capable of moving him to offensive line," Smart said. "We think that’ll be a permanent fix for the rest of this season and hopefully a spring deal for him to work there. He’s done some good things so we’re hoping he can help us."

Rashad Roundtree, who moved from safety to inside linebacker earlier in the year, is back with the defensive backs at his original position.

This move was made due to depth concerns along with the emergence of Tae Crowder, who began the year at running back, at inside linebacker.

"We feel like that’s probably where he’ll be permanently," Smart said. "With Tae being a linebacker, and he’s doing a good job, we feel we can move Rashad back to safety and DB. We’re probably going to need some extra DBs this game because of the style of play that TCU has."
