Local student serves as page for state reps
A local eighth-grader has been getting some legislative experience. Darnell Springer, a Fort Valley Middle School student, served as a page for state Rep. Patty Bentley on Jan. 31 and for state Sen. John Kennedy on March 14.
Springer delivered information and messages into the House and Senate chambers. Through sponsorships by district representatives, students ages 12 to 18 can spend a day at the state capitol learning about government.
