Huntington, Thomson middle schools win NASA STEM grants
Two Houston County middle schools have landed grants from NASA. Huntington and Thomson middle schools received three-year Operation STEM grants through the Museum of Aviation.
The schools were among eight of 73 applicants selected for NASA’s Competitive Program for Science Museums, Planetariums and NASA Visitor Centers. The Operation STEM program will involve current sixth-graders, following them until they finish eighth grade.
The Museum of Aviation’s Education Center will provide special programming for students. In addition, teachers will have professional development opportunities from the NASA Regional Educator Resource Center, and STARBASE Robins will offer an after-school program for students.
