Men pull guns during spat at Macon Home Depot
A 63-year-old Jesup man described as the victim in a Jan. 15 Bibb County sheriff’s report told a deputy that he was at the Home Depot in west Macon when he and another man got into “an altercation.” The deputy’s write-up of the episode isn’t entirely clear, but the dispute appears to have arisen from something one of the men said. The man listed as “the suspect” in the case, a 35-year-old from Forsyth, was being waited on by a Home Depot cashier when the victim apparently told the pair, “Why don’t you two go on a date?” The report notes: “The suspect didn’t like the comment and they began to argue. ... The victim called the suspect a couple of names. The victim stated he (was) walking to his truck and he noticed the suspect by his truck, yelling.” The older man said he felt threatened so he pointed a gun at the younger fellow, who told the deputy that the older guy got mad because the Home Depot cashier was waiting on him instead and “began making comments.” He said the 63-year-old said he was going to shoot the younger man when they got outside. The younger man said he then pulled out his own gun. The cops came. No one was arrested, but the deputy’s report said “further investigation is requested.”
