Woman with gun captured at Roberta business
After shots were fired at a Roberta company, a woman with a gun, described as an active shooter, was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon.
About 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, a Crawford County deputy and Roberta police officer responded to the former Dow Chemical at 125 GNS Court, according to a sheriff’s office release.
The Roberta Crawford County Chamber of Commerce lists Olin Epoxy as the name of the business at that address in the industrial park.
The officers confronted and subdued the woman as she was coming out of the door.
Her name has not been released, but she has been taken to the hospital to be evaluated.
The GBI is helping the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office in the forensics investigation.
J.T. Ricketson, special agent in charge of the Region 13 division of the GBI in Perry, referred questions about the shooting to Sheriff Lewis Walker.
“We are assisting with the crime scene only and sent two specialists to help work that,” Ricketson said Thursday afternoon. “I can tell you no one was struck.”
Walker said in the initial news release that more details about the shooting would be forthcoming.
