Macon BB&T robbed Monday morning

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a bank robbery in downtown Macon on Monday morning.

A man entered the lobby of BB&T Bank on Second Street about 11:30 a.m., according to a release from the sheriff’s office. After a few minutes, he approached a teller and asked her if she could cash a check. Then, the man handed the teller a piece of paper that was a note demanding money.

The teller gave the man money, and he left the bank.

The suspect was described as a clean-shaven, dark-skinned male about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 160 to180 pounds. At the time, he was wearing a black ball cap, a burgundy and multicolored button-up shirt and blue jeans.
