Macon infant’s death ruled homicide
A 5-month-old Macon boy who died in April suffered blunt-impact injuries to his head, chest and abdomen, authorities said Tuesday.
Alexander Montavious RaShard Carr, born last November, was in cardiac arrest when he arrived at the Medical Center, Navicent Health on April 20, Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said.
On Tuesday, the GBI crime lab declared the child’s death a homicide.
As of Tuesday afternoon, there was no word on who might be responsible for the baby’s fatal injuries, but Bibb County sheriff’s deputies have been investigating the death.
The child lived at 1055 Cypress Drive, south of Napier Avenue, a block east of Edna Place, the coroner said.
Jones said the boy’s death will be counted as the county’s 21st homicide of the year.
