Thieves shatter door at Macon store, steal Levi’s, cologne
Two men and a woman in a dark-colored car wheeled up to the front door of Goody’s department store on Gray Highway in east Macon early Friday. Then one of them hurled a concrete block through the door.
After busting the glass shortly after 1 a.m., a Bibb County sheriff’s report said, the three went in and stole 27 pairs of Levi’s valued at about $1,000.
The trio also made off with more than $500 worth of Ralph Lauren and Dolce & Gabbana cologne.
A sheriff’s deputy had cruised through the shopping center parking lot there north of Shurling Drive about five minutes before the store’s burglar alarm alerted authorities of the break-in.
A security camera captured footage of the theft, but the incident report didn’t describe the culprits or the make of their car. A store manager, according to the sheriff’s report, told a deputy early Friday that he couldn’t make a copy of the surveillance footage.
